Thulani Davis' The Emancipation Circuit: Black Activism Forging a Culture of Freedom is the winner of the $50,000 MAAH Stone Book Award!

Kerri K. Greenidge's The Grimkes: The Legacy of Slavery in an American Family and Claude Johnson’s The Black Fives: The Epic Story of Basketball's Forgotten Era are our two finalists. Each author receives $10,000.

Join us on October 19th @ 6:30pm ET at the African Meeting House on Beacon Hill, Boston, MA for this year's in-person (finally!) award event. The evening will feature remarks by this year's winning authors introduced by our fantastic panel of jurors, followed by a conversation with our winning author Thulani Davis and GBH's Under the Radar and podcast host Callie Crossley  A Q&A session with the audience will round out the evening.
